Swimming Pool Maintenance
A clean, clear pool should feel effortless. I offer dependable swimming pool maintenance that keeps your water balanced, your equipment running right, and your pool ready whenever you are. Whether you want weekly service, help getting back on track after things have slipped, or seasonal opening/closing, I can handle the work so you can enjoy the pool.
What’s Included in Pool Maintenance
My maintenance service is built around three things: water quality, cleanliness, and equipment health. Each visit is tailored to your pool and the time of year, but common service items include:
- Testing and balancing water chemistry (chlorine/sanitizer, pH, alkalinity, and stabilizer as needed)
- Skimming surface debris and emptying skimmer baskets
- Brushing walls, steps, and tile line to prevent algae buildup
- Vacuuming as needed to remove settled debris
- Checking and cleaning the pump basket
- Inspecting equipment for issues (leaks, unusual noises, low flow, poor circulation)
- Backwashing or cleaning filters when appropriate (depending on filter type)
- Adjusting run times and basic system settings for efficiency
- Blowing off the patio area around pool
If I notice a problem, I’ll tell you what’s going on and what it’ll take to fix it before it turns into a bigger headache.
Weekly and Bi-Weekly Service Options
Most customers choose weekly maintenance, especially during swim season. For lighter-use pools or certain times of year, bi-weekly service can also work.
Typical service schedules:
- Weekly Pool Maintenance (most popular)
- Bi-Weekly Pool Maintenance (situational, depends on debris load and pool conditions)
Not sure which one fits your pool? I can recommend a schedule based on your pool size, trees/debris, bather load, and equipment setup.
Chemical Service and Supplies
All chemicals needed to balance the water are included
Chlorine tabs and salt are Not provided. Customers are resplonsible for keeping them supplied. I will pick them up for you and bill you seperately if you want.
Either way, I keep the goal the same: stable, comfortable water that stays clear and safe.
Equipment Checks and Minor Troubleshooting
A pool can look “fine” while equipment is quietly struggling. During maintenance visits I keep an eye on common issues like:
- Low flow / weak circulation
- Air getting into the system
- Leaks at the pad or fittings
- Dirty filters causing pressure problems
- Pump or timer issues
- Early algae conditions
If something needs repair or replacement, I’ll explain it in plain language and give you a clear path forward.
One-Time Cleanups and “Get It Back Clear” Visits
If your pool is cloudy, green, or just behind, I offer one-time cleanups and recovery service. This can include extra brushing, vacuuming, filter cleaning, and chemical balancing to get the water back where it should be.
These jobs vary depending on current conditions, so I’ll let you know what I think after I see the pool.
Seasonal Service
Need help at the beginning or end of the season? I can provide seasonal support such as:
- Pool opening / start-up assistance
- Pool closing / winterization assistance
- Spring cleanup after heavy debris
- Mid-season equipment checkups
Seasonal services can be scheduled as stand-alone visits or added to regular maintenance.

Swimming Pool Maintenance FAQ
What does your swimming pool maintenance service include?
Each visit is built around water quality, cleanliness, and equipment health. Common service items include water testing and balancing, skimming and basket emptying, brushing walls/steps/tile line, vacuuming as needed, cleaning the pump basket, equipment checks for leaks or low flow, filter backwashing/cleaning when appropriate, basic run-time adjustments, and blowing off the patio area around the pool.
Do you offer weekly and bi-weekly pool maintenance?
Yes. Weekly maintenance is the most popular option, especially during swim season. Bi-weekly service can work in certain situations, depending on debris load, bather load, and overall pool conditions.
How do I know if weekly or bi-weekly service is right for my pool?
I can recommend the best schedule based on your pool size, how many trees and debris you deal with, how often the pool is used, and your equipment setup. If your pool gets heavy leaves/pollen or sees frequent use, weekly service is usually the better fit.
Do you service chlorine and saltwater pools?
Yes. I maintain both chlorine and saltwater pools. The goal is the same either way: stable, comfortable water that stays clear and safe.
Are chemicals included with maintenance service?
Yes. All chemicals needed to balance the water are included. The only exceptions are chlorine tabs and salt, which are not provided and must be kept supplied by the customer.
Can you pick up chlorine tabs or salt for me?
Yes. If you would like, I can pick them up for you and bill you separately.
Will you vacuum the pool every visit?
Vacuuming is done as needed. Some pools need it most visits, while others only need it occasionally depending on debris, weather, and how the pool is being used.
Do you brush the walls and tile line?
Yes. Brushing walls, steps, and the tile line is part of routine maintenance to help prevent algae buildup and keep the pool looking sharp.
Do you clean filters as part of maintenance?
When appropriate, yes. Filter service depends on your filter type and current conditions. I can backwash or clean filters when needed to keep pressure and circulation where they should be.
What equipment do you check during maintenance visits?
I keep an eye on the pump, filter system, circulation, and common trouble spots. I watch for low flow, air getting into the system, leaks at the pad or fittings, dirty filters causing pressure issues, pump or timer issues, and early algae conditions.
What if you find a problem with my equipment?
If I notice an issue, I will tell you what’s going on and what it will take to fix it before it turns into a bigger headache. If repair or replacement is needed, I explain it in plain language and give you a clear path forward.
Do you offer one-time cleanups or “get it back clear” service?
Yes. If your pool is cloudy, green, or behind on maintenance, I offer one-time cleanups and recovery visits. These often include extra brushing, vacuuming, filter cleaning, and chemical balancing to get the water back where it should be.
How long does it take to clear a cloudy or green pool?
It depends on how far off the water is, the strength of circulation and filtration, and how much debris or algae is present. After I see the pool, I will tell you what I think it will take and the most efficient way to get it back on track.
Do you offer seasonal opening and closing help?
Yes. I offer seasonal support such as pool opening/start-up assistance, pool closing/winterization assistance, spring cleanups after heavy debris, and mid-season equipment checkups.
Do I need to be home for service?
Not usually. As long as I can access the pool and the equipment safely, I can complete the service. If there is a gate code or specific instructions, you can send them by text.
What do you need from me before the first visit?
I typically need access to the pool and equipment area, any special instructions (gate code, pets, etc.), and basic info like your pool type (vinyl, fiberglass, or gunite), whether it is chlorine or salt, and any current issues you want addressed.
Do you blow off the patio area around the pool?
Yes. I can blow off the patio area around the pool as part of the service, especially when debris is building up.
What areas do you serve?
I serve Chattanooga and surrounding areas. If you are unsure whether you are in my service area, just send your general location and I will confirm.
